Puerto Vallarta is an Exciting Destination for Vegans

It can be hard traveling to certain places in Mexico as a vegan. After all, Mexico is known for being a prime destination for meat dishes. Thankfully, Puerto Vallarta breaks that mold and has plenty of vegan cuisines! In fact, Puerto Vallarta is the second top culinary destination in Mexico, so it’s no wonder why they are so accommodating.

We tried many vegan dishes in the area, and the following restaurants stood out to us as the best places to eat for vegans in Puerto Vallarta.

Eugenia Restaurant

The view from Eugenia

Eugenia sits up in the top floors of the Grand Miramar Resort & Spa, and the views alone are worth the trip out there. This culinary gem has an established vegan menu already, but it is also on its way to incorporating the Beyond Burger into their menu very soon. So, it is definitely the place to visit as a vegan. We tried the paella and the pumpkin star baby with pibil sauce accompanied with pineapple pure, and it was fantastic. This is the place to go if you are looking for an upscale environment with vegan dishes.

Nine Ninety 9

Nine Ninety 9 is set up like a fun yet classy sports bar. You will always be able to catch your favorite game on the tv while enjoying delicious treats. They had some tasty fried appetizers that any vegan would love, but it was their Portobello Burger that stole the show. It was absolutely delicious. This is the place to go if you’re looking for a more laid-back, sporty feel.

Florios is an Argentine restaurant that serves Italian-style cuisine. Their bar is well-stocked and has a tender who can serve you a drink for any occasion. They are well-versed in mixology. Yet, the real reason to come to Florios is for their pasta. They had delicious vegan-friendly pasta, as well as gluten-free pasta options. This was a gem and just the place to go if you’re looking for a hip place to have a meal.

There’s a vegan place for every occasion in Puerto Vallarta, so don’t let its location in Mexico scare you. We hope you will try the three culinary gems mentioned above!
