Barbie Forever! VIVA GLAM’s Top Ten Human Barbies in the World

This year marked the 60^th anniversary of the Barbie doll. Since her creation by Ruth Handler in 1959, Barbie has been influencing girls around the world to achieve the life of their dreams.

In fact, Mattel (the company that created Barbie) said, “from astronaut to zoologist, there isn’t a plastic ceiling Barbie hasn’t broken. Today, with over 200 careers and counting, she continues to inspire the limitless potential in every girl.”

So many women all over the world still try to emulate Barbie’s classic, sexy look. From Kim Kardashian to Miss Universe, women love Barbie’s luxurious hair, big eyes, long legs and curves! 

Some women even alter their bodies to the extreme to achieve the Barbie look. And with many Millennials, this is not considered out-of-the ordinary. Whether you are watching a beauty pageant in Latin America or following your favorite influencer, looking like Barbie is still celebrated.

A few years ago, the Lammily Doll was created as an “average” alternative to Barbie using the proportions of an “average”nineteen-year old girl. And while this doll might be popular with some young girls, it didn’t push Barbie, with its 1.5M Instagram followers, out of the market. Barbie is here to stay and isn’t going out of style any time soon. 

Mattel made it very clear when creating Barbie that she was intended to be just a fantasy doll for girls to play with. And although her proportions are not realistic, she is still an inspiration to many.

10. Heidi Montag

You might remember Heidi Montag and her hubby, Spencer, from the MTV reality show, “The Hills”.  She’s also known for undergoing ten cosmetic procedures in one day!  The result? She went from cute, girl-next-door, to full-blown Barbie!  She’s received both criticism and praise for her new look. But, this glamour gal just keeps moving forward with appearances on “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!”, “Famous Food”, “Celebrity Big Brother” and “Marriage Boot Camp”!
