Remember the Lammily doll? This doll is a touted as the “normal Barbie” with average looks and body proportions. The creator of the Lammily doll wanted to make a regular looking doll that was an alternative to Barbie. Now, he has created “Period Party” which is an accessory set that comes with a pad, liner stickers, underwear, a calendar and dot stickers to keep track of menstruation!
You may remember Barbie’s dream house, Malibu corvette and Barbie makeup. The Lammily doll now has a box of menstrual pads as an accessory. In addition, she also has add-on acne, scars and stretch marks that you can purchase as accessories.
Nickolay Lamm, the creator of the Lammily doll, said, “Menstruation is still a taboo in our society. More than that, sometimes it’s still used as an insult. I’ve read horror stories of kids thinking that they were dying during their first period. Parents are also wary of approaching the subject.”
