How is it raising a daughter in Hollywood?
How do you want her to see show business?
I want her to see show business as something you pursue because you love making people feel something, not because it’s a job that keeps you financially stable. It’s a business of heartbreak and disappointment. It takes balls and perseverance to get back up after you’re told “no” so many times. And if you truly love it, you will make it. And that’s where the distinction comes.people who do it for the money will stay down. But the people that love it will always get back up.
After leaving Scientology, what was your foundation that you drew from to handle all the media surrounding your life?
The foundation that I continue to draw from is the love from my family and friends that supported my decision. They were there for me when I needed them the most. And my basic foundation in my faith never changed whether in Scientology or out of it.
You stated that your reality show Leah Remini: It’s All Relative brought your family closer. How do you avoid the pitfalls of all the destruction to families on reality shows?
I wouldn’t say that reality shows are the pitfalls of someone’s family. For me it’s been a very positive experience because our show is a hybrid of a reality sitcom. We show the funny side of what most families have and celebrate our craziness. We decided to show the wacky side of one’s family as opposed to approaching the show as a docudrama.
