Non-Touristic Places You Need to Visit in Dubai

When thinking about a trip to Dubai, many tourists immediately imagine the Burj Khalifa skyscraper, camels and shopping malls, for which the megalopolis is famous for. However, don’t assume that there is nothing else to see in this city, that is absolutely not the case. For those who are looking for something unique on the way to Dubai, the best way is to ask the locals for advice, but we have done it for you and gathered a list of unique places in Dubai that many tourists don’t know about.

However, there is a small detail that we should mention at once, in most cases, all the non-tourist places are located not in the city center and they require a longer time to get there. The easiest and most convenient way to get to far-away destinations is to take a car. Nowadays, thanks to a large number of car rental services everyone can hire a car for any time and be completely mobile. Moreover, the choice of a car is very large so that everyone can easily even rent a Ferrari in Dubai for a small price. Automobile companies provide the best vehicles and high-qualified specialists who will help to find and rent a car according to your preferences, so you don’t have to worry about a thing.

The abandoned city of Al Madam

The first place we recommend to visit is located an hour away from Dubai, this is a very unusual place which has an interesting history. We are talking about the abandoned village of Al-Madam, which is located in the desert. The old legend says that residents left this town because of evil spirits, which gave this place its name – ghost town; however, historians believe that the main reason for it was the sandstorms in the area. Today this place is open to the public, you can not only explore the surroundings of the desert, but also enter the houses, where the personal belongings of local residents are still preserved.

Al Ain park

Two hours’ drive from Dubai lies Al Ain Oasis, which is considered a true landmark with an ancient fortress and a picturesque park. Within a short drive of Al Ain you can see Mount Hafit, which is considered to be the highest point in the UAE, where visitors can enjoy a majestic view of the surrounding area, visible from afar.

Al Hamriyah beach

If you are tired of overcrowded tourist beaches where it is almost impossible to swim then this place is definitely for you. Al Hamriyah Public Beach with its golden sand and coastal palm trees is a quiet place where mostly locals from the city like to relax. This is the best place to watch sunrises or sunsets with your beloved one.

Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum solar park

This surreal place may not appeal to everyone, but we still want to tell you about it. The world’s largest solar park covers an area of 44 square kilometers and is equipped with millions of photovoltaic panels. The place looks more like a space station or a scenery for a sci-fi movie. Nowhere else in the world you can find a similar installation, that’s why we advise you to see it at least once in your life.

Feel free to explore this wonderful city on your own and discover new places. We’re sure you’ll love to visit all the places we mentioned above, so we wish you a nice trip and wonderful holiday in Dubai!
