Colbie Caillat rounded out the evening perfectly. While Platten and Perri sang mostly about struggle and heartbreak, Callait sang more about love, seasons, and empowerment. She graced the stage in a matching black crop top and flowy skirt. She chose to be barefoot which paired perfectly with her all-natural vibe and her stunningly gorgeous figure. In the midst of her many hits, she performed two duets: one with her best friend and one with her fiance. Needless to say, the crowd went wild when her fiance tried for some PDA, but not as wild as when Caillat decided to display a home video of hers on the giant screen behind her, giving us a glimpse into her life. Half of the video showcased her four dogs and they were hilarious and adorable.
Many artists are paired up to tour as they hope their audiences will complement each other. Often, the pairings don’t fit and you’ll find that the audiences avoid each other and still only attend a portion of the show. But pairing Colbie Callait, Christina Perri, and Rachel Platten was a stroke of genius. Their themes, genres, styles, and personalities all complemented each other so effortlessly. It was a joy to be able to experience this tour.
