Prev1 of 7

Who better to answer questions about love than your favorite songwriters, leading men, and social media stars?

Celebrity love lives are always in the news, whether they like it or not. Instead of trying to spoil details about a wedding or announcing news about a new baby, we wanted to dig deep into the hearts of our favorite songwriters and actors and ask them questions about love that made them think. From finding out these men and women are head over heels for their partners to having a few celebrity crushes on cartoon characters, we know you will love learning more about your favorite stars through their interpretations of love. We talked to singer/songwriter Mat Kearney, singer/actor James Maslow, R5 member Rydel Lynch, actor Kel Mitchell, lead singer of American Authors, Zac Barnett, fitness influencer Dempsey Marks, and actor (a.k.a. Captain Man) Cooper Barnes. Some of these celebs are single, some are taken, and some are even married. So let’s find out what these charismatic stars all had to say about love for Valentine’s Day!

Do you prefer a low-key Valentine’s Day or a romantic night out?

My wife is old-school and wants a big night out. I have come to really enjoy it. We’re pretty adventurous in our vacations, but we always end up at this cheesy steakhouse with red wine and a rose. It’s very funny, corny, and sweet.

What’s the best date you’ve ever been on?

The best date was a surprise staycation. What was maybe a coffee date turned into an overnight trip at a swanky hotel.

What’s the best love advice you’ve ever received?

I haven’t gotten advice…

That just means he’s used to giving advice to others. šŸ˜‰

Who was your first celebrity crush?

Shania Twain.

What is your favorite love song?

Etta James “Living Out Loud” (soundtrack) or Tom Waits “Take It With Me”. Both are old-school, but I feel like a love song should be a classic.

What does love mean to you?

Love is equal parts infatuation and passion, and choice and compromise.

What’s the best Valentine’s Day gift you’ve ever received?

What’s funny is I had no valentine until my wife. For some reason, I would always be on the fritz or had broken up with a girl. I didn’t have a serious relationship until I met my wife. She’s my first valentine and every Valentine’s Day is now special.

What’s your favorite representation of love in film, TV, or literature?

I would say Jesus’s story of dying for people or “Romeo and Juliet”.

The CRAZYTALK tour starts on February 19th in Spokane, Washington. Look out for his new album “CRAZYTALK” hitting stores soon!
