WHAT TO DO
Stephen Avenue Walk
Since the late 1880s, this district has been a thriving area of business. In 2002, the Stephen Avenue Walk was declared a Historical District. With over 30 restored buildings, it feels like you are walking through Calgary’s history while you just happen to be shopping and dining.
The Core Shopping Mall
Interested in checking out Canadian brands? This mall has everything from well-known international brands to Canadian fast fashion. Or, if you’d like to take a break during your day of sightseeing, visit the Devonian Gardens on the top floor of the mall for a moment to pause.
Kensington Village
This section of Calgary is full of coffee shops, fun eateries, consignment stores, and one of our favorite shops in all of Calgary: The Beehive. At this handmade and non-toxic store, you can get honey, candles, skincare, cleaning products, soaps, you name it!
National Music Centre
This is the place to learn about the history of Canadian music. From aboriginal artists to present day icons, you’ll be enthralled with their interactive displays and collectors’ items on display.
Calgary Farmer’s Market
This farmer’s market has more than just produce. They have stalls upon stalls of fast casual cuisine, including veggie sandwiches, veggie hot dogs, and vegan desserts. You can also find non-toxic skincare, wine, and unique food products to take home with you!
If Banff is already on your list, take the extra hour drive to explore the fun city that is Calgary. Take a few days to explore the fun shopping scene and sample the unique vegan and gluten-free cuisines. Alberta is a beautiful place to be.
