If You Like Wearing Sunglasses Then These Tips Are For You

Do you enjoy wearing sunglasses? Like many of us, sunglasses are great for the times we want to spend outside when the sun is shining a bit harder than we thought it would. Sunglasses help protect our eyes while allowing us to go on about our day.

But, with that being said, there are some tips we have to offer you about sunglasses that you might not have ever known about before. Check out these tips below and start searching for your perfect pair of sunglasses today.

Get Prescription Lenses

If you’re planning on spending a significant amount of time outside, you might want to consider getting prescription sunglasses. Prescription sunglass lenses are great for people who need a little help to see things clearly. Not only are you able to enjoy the design of sunglasses you want, but you can kill two birds with one stone.

Some people enjoy sunglasses for cosmetic reasons, but having sunglasses specifically tailored to you is important. All you have to do is ensure you have your prescription for your eyeglasses and then provide it when you’re ordering your frames.

Consider Glasses With UV Protection

The next tip we have to offer you about sunglasses and the ones you choose is to select some lenses with UV protection. When choosing this option for your lenses, you must ensure you always select 100% UV-blocking protection.

If you’re buying your frames off the rack at a store, you will need to ensure you look at the label on the frames. This is to check and ensure that it specifically says it provides the UV protection you’re looking for; otherwise, this isn’t something that can be guaranteed.

While we’re discussing the types of lenses you select, don’t overlook the fact that sunglasses, much like other types of glasses, are prone to being scratched. Choosing glass lenses are a better option than traditional polycarbonate lenses because they are easier to scratch.

Another way to keep the lenses from getting scratched is to ensure you put the glasses back in the case when you’re not wearing them.

Don’t Leave Your Lenses in the Car

The last thing you want to do is leave your sunglasses in the car. You should especially not leave the lenses sitting on the car’s dashboard because this is the hottest place in the car because it’s exposed directly to the sun.

When you leave your sunglasses on the dashboard of your car over time, it can delaminate the lens of the sunglasses. In some cases, it can cause pieces of your lens to begin to degrade.

Again, if you’re not going to wear your glasses while in the car, you need to protect the sunglasses and place them in the glasses case, it’s best to have a hard case because there will be times you might drop the glasses in the car.

A hard case provides more protection for your glasses than if they were in a soft case.

Pay Attention to What You’re Cleaning With

There will be times when the lens of your sunglasses becomes smudged and will need to be cleaned. While you might be tempted to use alcohol or Windex, we recommend you don’t use these because they can be harmful to your lens.

You should also avoid using your breath to clean your lens the way you see some people cleaning them. Instead, you should use a cleaner that is specific for the lens and a microfiber cloth as well.

Using a microfiber cloth will make it easier to clean your lenses and won’t leave behind any smudges while you’re cleaning them. Over time the cloth you’ve been using will become dirty, and that means it’s time to throw it in the laundry before you begin to use it again.

If you use it will, the cloth is dirty, it can cause your lens to be dirty as well, and nobody wants to try looking through dirty sunglasses.

Sunglasses: Tips and Tricks to Keep Your Sunglasses Longer

Whether your sunglasses are brand new or some you’ve kept over time, the truth is you need to do what it takes to care for them. Ensure you use a cleaner that is specifically for cleaning sunglasses, and it’s best to use a microfiber cloth while doing so.

It’s also important that you don’t leave your sunglasses in the car because it’s too hot for it to be left on the dashboard. Ensure you place the sunglasses in a hard case to protect them.
