There are not many destinations in this world that offer vegan and spiritual wellbeing alternatives for the ultimate health conscious traveler. Wynn/Encore Las Vegas not only offers it abundance, it’s also celebrated from the inside out as a way a life…a shift in consciousness. Join me for an all access pass as I immerse myself deep in the wonderful world of Wynn.
“The most important part of vegetarianism is the real shift in consciousness that takes place. There is a true correlation between our food choices and violence in the world. The only person who would disagree with that is a meat-eater” .¨ Peter Burwash, Davis Cup Winner.
“In my view, no chemical carcinogen is nearly so important in causing human cancer as animal protein”- Dr. Colin Campbell, Ph.d, Director, The China Health Project.
“I don’t eat meat because meat brings out negative qualities such as fear, anger, anxiety, aggressiveness, etc. Vegetables peacefully offer themselves to the earth when ripe, thus allowing a sublime and peaceful thought-consciousness”- Carlos Santana, Musician.
“Truly man is the king of beasts for his brutality exceeds theirs. We live by the death of others: we are burial places” .¨ Leonardo Da Vinci, Artist, scientist, poet and musician.
“When one becomes a vegetarian, it purifies the soul” .¨ Isaac Bashevis Singer, Author, Nobel laureate
LAS VEGAS- My journey to what I call “Super SmartBurst The Lifestyle” was long and tedious at best. My transformation and shift in consciousness happened only when I began to listen, to pay attention, and ultimately to take direction from my higher power.
“I believe signs and moments come in different shapes, colors, and forms.but I believe they all come at the moments we can truly hear.”
I’ve been on…and I’m still on the most fantastic physical and spiritual journey of my life…growing, learning and receiving unbelievable blessing. Most people that know me have heard me call our raw vegetable drink a “Super SmartBurst”. This is what we call this whole experiences and the lifestyle that’s emerged from it…this journey of self discovery is our “Super SmartBurst “. Super SmartBurst represents the raw fruits and vegetables we started taking in, the shift in consciousness, and raising our body’s vibrations with exercise….it’s like we opened ourselves up and got a huge burst of answers, smartness, knowledge, direction, guidance… ENLIGHTENMENT! This lifestyle brought us back to nature, to the earth and what God intended for us to nourish ourselves with…fruits and vegetables. I believe there is a strong correlation between veganism, spirituality, and exercise. I think it’s fabulous that there is a destination in this world that celebrates this openly and proudly. It’s a shift in a more conscious direction that I feel needed a closer look.
In 2010, Steve Wynn switched to a vegan diet after watching the documentary Eating by Mike Anderson. According to Wynn, his vegan diet was also inspired by a guest on his yacht in St. Tropez, who discussed the environmental and health consequences of eating meat. After becoming a vegan, Wynn announced that he would add animal-free menus to all his restaurants.
Every restaurant at Wynn Las Vegas and Encore offers a vegan and vegetarian menu that is designed and prepared at the same caliber as any of the signature items served. The highest quality meat-free and dairy-free ingredients are used to create flavor combinations so delicious, you won’t even know what’s “missing.” The chefs at Wynn partnered with collaborating vegan chef Tal Ronnen to craft unique and healthy fare to be enjoyed at any time of the day.
Chef Tal Ronnen, one of the most celebrated vegan chefs in America, brings his unique, deeply flavorful cuisine to the restaurants at Wynn and Encore as Collaborating Vegan Chef.
Working with the resort’s star chefs, Ronnen has applied traditional French culinary technique to meatless cuisine, creating delicious meals full of rich flavor that any food lover will find completely satisfying. His dishes are dedicated to the proposition that avoiding the health risks and ethical dilemmas associated with eating meat and dairy does not mean sacrificing taste or satisfaction. Ronnen became known nationwide as the chef who prepared vegan meals for Oprah Winfrey’s 21-day vegan cleanse. He has since catapulted to fame, catering Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s vegan wedding, Arianna Huffington’s party at the Democratic National Convention, and the first vegan dinner at the U.S. Senate.
We had the incredible opportunity to experience some of the amazingly delicious vegan cuisine at Wazuzu, Andrea’s, and Sinatra. I have to admit, everything we were offered was above and beyond anything I ever imagined. It’s a challenge to commit a life to veganism, but let me tell you, it was absolutely incredible to experience vegan dining on this level. Seth Lewis and I are both Le Cordon Bleu trained chefs, and from a chef’s point of view, we’re speechless and amazed. We will be back again, and again, and invite our whole vegan community to experience the Wynn/Encore firsthand.
From Vegan.com, Robin Leach quotes Wynn:
It’s very simple: I’m killing two birds at once, so to speak. Animal-based food kills people. This way by going vegan . we get healthy and save animals. I’m being selfish, too, because if I can get my employees healthier, we cut down on sick days and gain more productivity. Our plan to take care of ourselves this way has blended right in with our staff. Our chefs have really gotten into it with special vegetarian and vegan dishes on each one of our restaurant menus. I don’t want any more concentration camps for animals that are cruelly treated, force fed to fatten themselves up for our consumption.
Leach writes that he was so impressed by the vegan meal he ate at one of Wynn’s restaurants that he went online and ordered the materials that inspired Wynn’s veganism: The RAVE Diet & Lifestylebook and the “Eating” DVD.
When Seth and I made the spiritual shift to a vegan lifestyle (Super SmartBurst The Lifestyle), exercise and wellbeing became an important element in our transformation. I believe taking care of our temple and elevating our body’s vibrations is key to a strong spiritual connection. When you enter the Encore Spa, it’s all about a spiritual wellbeing. We had specialized messages and facials that were both centering and reenergizing. Everything about our experience left me with a renewed and focused outlook on the future.
“Elevate your body’s vibrations.”
