“Women Behind the Wheel” took place last month at the exclusive Thermal Club in Thermal, CA, just outside of Palm Springs.
This private event was sponsored by O’Gara Motor Sports of Beverly Hills and VIVA GLAM was invited to join.
“Women Behind the Wheel” invited 30 lucky ladies to a luxurious weekend getaway that began at the Rolls Royce showroom in Beverly Hills.
From there, they went to the glamorous La Quinta, Palm Springs for a day of pampering. Ladies were treated to lunch, massages, facials and mani/pedis and then to a gourmet dinner at the hotel!
Of course, everyone was excited for the next day as they would be heading to The Thermal Club, an exclusive, private country club for the car enthusiast. The ladies were so excited as they were invited to test drive brand new Lamborghinis, Rolls Royces, Aston Martins and Porsches from O’Gara Motor Sports of Beverly Hills!
After a quick safety review, the ladies had a beautiful breakfast. Then, they were broken into groups of 10 and each group was taken to a test track facility.
On the first track, they Tokyo Drifted in a special wet area designed for sliding. The second, they were invited to test drive a Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-2 on an s-curve track for speed and precision.
On the third, they were on the main track and raced against each other in a two-seater Rolls Royce Wraith, Aston Martin and gun metal Lamborghini!
After racing, everyone was treated to an exquisite lunch and a celebratory champagne reception!

After they had lunch and opened their gift bags, some of the ladies stayed for even more track activities!
In a hobby that is most often associated with men, “Women Behind the Wheel” showed that there are many women who are knowledgeable car enthusiasts. They are, in their own right, masters behind the wheel.
