Ways to Travel Without Getting Behind the Wheel

Do you have an important event on your calendar–one you’re looking forward to–but don’t fancy having to get behind the wheel, strap your seatbelt, and travel to the destination? You’re not alone.

What are your options if you need to get someplace and would rather not have to sit in traffic? If you have to sit in bumper-to-bumper traffic on a highway that looks more like a parking lot, it can be a little more tolerable if somebody else is driving. That’ll allow you to take a break and relax.

Whether you’re headed to a wedding, require a cruise transfer ride, or want to go on a college reunion trip with some friends, you’ll want to explore the various ways to get there and back. Ride-sharing or asking someone for a lift are two options. But another option is to book a chauffeured ride to get the VIP treatment while traveling in style. Keep reading to learn more.

Ride-Sharing

Did you know that one in four people in the U.S. uses ride-sharing services once a month? The same source notes that the ride-sharing segment, growing at a 20% compound annual growth rate, is expected to climb to $220 billion by 2025. So, ride-sharing has gone mainstream.

If you need to get to an event and don’t enjoy commandeering a vehicle that gets boxed in on the freeway, ride-sharing is a great option. By letting someone else drive, you can focus on something else or close your eyes to get a nap. You’ll arrive at your event refreshed and relaxed rather than tired and stressed.

Ask a Friend for Ride

Another way to get from point A to point B is to ask someone you know for a ride. That can be a loved one, friend, neighbor, or acquaintance. If someone you know is headed to the same event, you can arrange to travel with them. If you’d rather not have to help with driving the car, you can offer to contribute toward gas or buy them lunch if the trip is long. It’s a great way to travel if you’re going to an event with close friends since it’ll make sense that you’re all going together.

Chauffeur Service

Why not hire a chauffeur if you want to get someplace while letting someone else drive? Finding the right service provider means getting a ride to and from the event or location in a vehicle driven by a professionally attired and experienced chauffeur. The chauffeur will open the door for you and close it once you’re seated, answer any questions you may have, get you to where you need to safely, and then open the door to let you exit the vehicle. You’ll get the VIP treatment usually reserved for A-list actors and athletes. You’ll also be able to choose the car you want to be transported in. You’ll have options if you want to travel in a sedan, SUV, van, Spinter, minibus, motor coach, or something else. Do you need to book a chauffeur service in Los Angeles, Miami, New York, or some other city? Conduct research to find a service provider that meets your needs.

Some options are available if you need to get someplace and don’t fancy driving. Consider the ones mentioned above to see which one makes the most sense in your situation. Another option, if you’d rather not have to travel, is to plan an event closer to home…or in your home. Are you having a get-together with people you went to high school with? You might want to consider hosting the event. You can get people to help by, for example, asking them to bring over some food. It’s yet another way to enjoy a special event with family and friends without driving.
