Walk Off the Plane Looking Great

Walk Off the Plane Looking Great

Travel can be pretty hard on anyone; it doesn’t really matter who you happen to be and if you’re worried about your makeup then you’ve got quite the task ahead of you. You know that you want to look great when you walk off the boarding ramp and into that busy airport, especially if you happen to be meeting someone on the ground. So how do you do it?

We all know that unless you’ve used some serious setting spray, makeup is going to break down, and even if you’ve gotten it pretty well set, there is a chance that it will start to crack before the plane lands. Seriously, what if you’re on an eight-hour flight? You want to look your best, and so you’re going to need to sneak off, into the restroom and take care of yourself. Here’s the real question, however: when should you start inching toward the bathroom?

The Great Escape

You want to make sure you get to the bathroom, and with that being the case, you should do so before the pilot turns on the .≤fasten seat belts’ sign. At that point it’s game over and even if you do manage to make it to the bathroom after that light turns on, you’re going to have a rough time touching up your makeup. We recommend getting up at least thirty minutes, if not one hour before your plane lands; this will save you a lot of trouble and give you plenty of time to prepare for your big appearance.

What to Take With You

Right off the bat we’re going to tell you to come prepared when you board the airplane. Before you buy your ticket, make sure you have a small makeup bag stocked with the essentials, and if possible, make sure that the bag is transparent so that you can find what you need quickly .¨ it will make all the difference in the world, or at least in the air. Some of the essentials include:

  • Hair Brush
  • Mascara
  • Lipstick
  • Gloss
  • Mouthwash
  • Mints
  • Breath Strips

One thing we would like to say, is that when you are using lipstick in an airport lavatory, you should avoid making use of lip stain. While it works well on the ground, the moment the plane hits a patch of turbulence you’re going to lose control and the last thing you want is a streak across your face that you have to furiously cover with foundation. We’re not going to say whether we’ve been there, or not, but such a scenario would be infuriating.

Also, avoid using any makeup or hair products that are cream, lotion, liquid based while still in the air. They expand and could very likely explode or shoot up out of the top.

Getting yourself freshened up and ready for departure is absolutely essential; make sure you have those few needed items and be ready to face the world when the plane lands.
