Visiting as a Vegan/Vegetarian in Ottawa, Ontario

4 of 6

Wellington West

Wellington West is one of the newer neighborhoods in Ottawa. This area houses many young families, young professionals, and open-minded citizens. In this neighborhood, you can find a plethora of vegan and gluten-free options, vintage stores, and eco-friendly businesses, such as a no-waste grocery store.

Stores to visit: Second Glance, Fab Gear ’64, Royal Palm Vintage & Design.

Downtown

In many major cities, the downtown area is catered towards businesses with the occasional arts venue. As Ottawa is the capital, this is also where most of the museums are located, as well as the Parliament of Canada. Many tourists love to visit the Parliament to see the change of the guard at 9:50AM every day, but we also recommend you take a free guided tour of the Parliament.

If you’re in the mood for more history, check out these great venues: Bank of Canada Museum, Bytown Museum, Supreme Court of Canada, and the Women’s Emancipation Memorial.
