For couples trying to conceive, getting tested first by a company like Fertility Plus is essential. However, the pressure of planning intercourse around ovulation can be incredibly stressful. Many times this stress causes vaginal dryness.
Unfortunately, the use of a personal lubricant is often discouraged by fertility experts because leading lubricants like K-Y are known to adversely affect sperm.
However, a recently released study has shown that Pre-Seed Fertility-Friendly personal lubricant is not only safe for use when trying to conceive, sperm actually performs significantly better with Pre-Seed than other lubricants on important fertility measures.
The study, titled “The effects of vaginal lubricants on sperm function: an in vitro analysis,” examined sperm motility and vitality, the major semen parameters characterized when assessing male fertility.
Of the nine different commercial lubricants tested, Pre-Seed Fertility-Friendly personal lubricant had significantly better results for measures like progressive sperm motility and sperm vitality.
Many of the other lubricants in the study either impaired sperm motilityor damaged sperm vitality, which could decrease the chance of successful conception.
Motility is the most important predictor of sperm transport and subsequent fertilization. Sperm treated with Pre-Seed showed significantly higher progressive motility than all the other lubricants.
Motile sperm are able to fertilize female eggs, whereas immotile but viable sperm are not.
Some lubricants, with varying compositions, have previously been marketed globally as “sperm friendly.” However, many of them had not been clinically studied, so physicians lacked information to back their recommendations.
Vitality was also measured to determine whether lubricant exposure is toxic to sperm cells. Sperm treated with Pre-Seed had a significantly higher percentage of live cells compared with other lubricants.
The new study also found that Pre-Seed did not impact DNA integrity of sperm. Dr. Joanna Ellington, an internationally recognized scientist in the area of Sperm Physiology, developed Pre-Seed during her National Institute of Health-funded research into what makes healthy sperm.
Dr. Ellington realized that many couples were using lubricants that killed sperm. Her research led her to invent Pre-Seed’s patented “fertility-friendly” lubricant formula that is clinically shown to be safe for couples trying to conceive.
Pre-Seed Fertility-Friendly personal lubricant is widely available at retail stores nationwide like Walmart, Target, CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid and internet retailers like Amazon, Fairhaven Health and Drugstore.com.
