Three Fun Nights Out for You and Your Girlfriends

The older we get, the busier we become. It’s a fact many women lament. Where once you’d spend nearly every day with your girlfriends, you often find you have less and less time together as you progress through your twenties and thirties.

It’s not that your core circle become any less important to you, but that as your world increasingly centres around your career, relationship, and family life, it becomes more difficult to find time for yourself – and by extension, for the girlfriends you love so much.

What this means is that when you do get to spend an evening together, you want to make the most of it. To help you do that, here are three fun night out ideas to inspire you.

Spend an evening at your local bowling alley

One of the wonderful things about spending time with your girlfriends is that it gives you a great chance to regress. Given how comfortable you all feel in each other’s company, you can be your purest self, with no worries about kicking back and letting your hair down. That’s why we suggest going in search of some good old-fashioned fun the next time you’re together, and your local bowling alley is a great place to start. Offering up an American-themed menu and cocktails aplenty, most have a really enjoyable vibe come evening, so take advantage and have some dinner and drinks while you bowl. You’re sure to spend most of your night laughing, which is just the tonic after a long day at work.

Take a trip to your nearest bingo hall

Once upon a time, bingo was a game for grandmothers. Filled with elderly ladies sporting blue rinses, bingo halls were rarely visited by the younger generation, but all that has changed in recent years. Now appealing to a much more varied crowd, the industry has undergone something of a revamp, with everyone from students to career woman enjoying a game at their local venue. Serving up food, drinks, and lots of fun, this makes your nearest bingo hall a great place to spend an evening with your girlfriends. You can even get some practice in before you go thanks to Lucky Pants Bingo offers. Giving you a chance to try your hand at the game without breaking the bank, these come in really handy for helping you to get a grasp on how it all works – including some of those bingo calls, which seem entertaining but rather confusing to newcomers.

Go to a comedy show

If you’re in need of a good belly laugh, a comedy show is another great idea. Lots of comedians go on tour around the country, but if you’d prefer a more budget-friendly option, there are plenty of bars and clubs that host standups, and most of them are either free or very cheap. To make the night last a little longer, get the drinks in before, during, and after the show, and set aside some time pre- or post-performance to sit down and talk. It’s always great to have a catch-up, so make sure the giggles don’t only come from the entertainment onstage.

When it comes to finding time for friendship, it can be really difficult not to feel like you’re forgetting the wonderful women who matter most to you, but the best way to avoid this guilt is to set aside the occasional evening for each other. Do something fun, update everyone on what’s happening in your life, and you’ll soon find you’re as easy in each other’s company as ever.
