Enjoy classic flavors and fresh ingredients chosen daily in a contemporary environment facing the ocean.” We found this to be very true. In fact, we feel that it features ingenious culinary excellency. The chef at Luna Muna isn’t afraid to mix and play with flavors to create truly unique dishes.
Vegan Fine Dining
What’s even better is that they offer a full vegan menu. When we travel across the globe, we notice that it is hard to find vegan options that are truly unique and delicious. Usually, it’s the same old veggies being called a vegan meal. Or we hear, “It’s a salad with chicken. We can remove the chicken.” Here, this is not the case at all. Each dish is extremely well thought out and exciting. You can tell it’s prepared with care and love, and it’s not missing any attention to detail. The vegan menu provides delicious pasta, a unique veggie burger, and an array of both richer and lighter options that you can accompany with tofu.
There is a Beat and Carpaccio dish accompanied with malanga chips, a Chickpea Salad with zucchini and eggplant, a Red Pepper Salad with Tofu Cheese, and a delicious meal of Ratatouille. Many of the vegetarian options can also be made vegan, and, on many occasions, the chef would send out a specialty vegan dish he came up with in the moment to try. Every time it was incredibly delicious.
We love finishing dinner with desert, and most places, even if they have regular vegan options, hardly ever have vegan deserts. Here they did! There was a delicious rice pudding with a fruit topping that was exceptional.
The variety of fresh juices at Luna Muna is also extensive. Specifically, however, we fell in love with the watermelon juice which was fresh, sweet, and refreshing every day.
If you are staying at the Ibagari Boutique Hotel, you can be assured that your table for each meal will be put aside for you, unless you have notified the hotel that you will not be joining them for a meal. So, guests will always have a place to stay and eat.
The service at Luna Muna is unlike any we have had before. If you come frequently, especially if you are staying at the Ibagari, the staff notes and remembers what you like and don’t like, catering a very personalized dining experience. For instance, if you order a fruit plate and don’t eat the papaya, they will ask if you would prefer a replacement to the papaya the next time you order that dish. If you’re into fine dining, or if you are really just a fan of good food, be sure to give Luna Muna and the Ibagari Boutique Hotel a try. It’s worth the trip to Roatan alone. The cuisine and atmosphere are simple and rich, yet excellent.
