Should You Consider Giving Up Caffeine?

Is it healthy to omit caffeine from your diet?

It’s something most of us do each and every day: we drink some form of caffeine. And although drinking caffeine in moderation is considered safe, are there any benefits from omitting caffeine entirely from your diet?

We may drink caffeine more than we think. It’s in coffee, tea, soda, energy drinks, and more. It’s a highly addictive substance and some need it to function normally everyday. Without it, you might become cranky, irritable, tired, and get headaches. But by quitting, you can free yourself from this cycle and begin to function normally once again without it.

There are several other benefits to quitting caffeine. For example, did you know that you can save a lot each year by not drinking caffeine? You might be surprised to know that you’d save $2,665 a year by omitting two lattes from Starbucks a day! Wow, that’s a lot more than most of us would imagine! And think of what you could do with that extra amount!

Omitting caffeine from your diet can also lower your blood pressure and keep your heart from working too hard. In addition, caffeine can reduce the amount of sleep and the quality of sleep you can get each night.

Overall, you might be in a better mood, too. One of the signs of not having coffee in the morning when you are addicted is being in a bad mood and being anti-social until you’ve had your morning cup of coffee!

Caffeine also stimulates the adrenal glands that can cause anxiety in some. By omitting it, you can lessen the feelings of anxiety. This is ideal if you are especially prone to feeling this way naturally.

And, as we mentioned previously, one of the key signs of withdrawal is getting a headache. You can eliminate this by omitting caffeine entirely from your diet.

There are so many reasons to try giving up caffeine. Do it for your health and better peace of mind! Will you consider giving it up?
