Since the location right in the center of Amsterdam really wasn’t the ideal location to run a brewery, it was closed. Luckily for us, someone thought to turn it into a museum so visitors can learn about the brewing process in the facility that actually made Heineken. And it still functions in part as a mini brewery for the guests who come to see its magic.
Included in the regular ticket price is a self-guided tour but be advised that you do need to have your smartphone with you, as you need an app to do so. Plus, there will be plenty of Instagram-able moments, too! Or, you could decide on the VIP tour experience which will make your visit that much more personalized. Either way, you will learn all about the history of Heineken and how it grew from a small brewery to becoming a lead in the beer-empire. Next, you will get to hear all about the brewing process and learn about the different types and flavors of beer. Then comes the beer tasting. While tasting beer and enjoying the atmosphere, you will find plenty of fun activities to keep yourself entertained.
