My Road Trip Across America and Why You Should Do it Too

Prev1 of 4

My life journey, thus far, has taken me to the jungles of Borneo, the canals of Venice, and the ancient standing stones at Stonehenge. Yet, I am amazed with how much breathtaking beauty there is to be experienced in our own country. Recently I had the chance to take the trip of a lifetime and drive from coast to coast to spend time with the friends and family I love and have been missing.

My sojourn began in the dead of winter and continued through to early spring. I spent one month stopping in eight states and ten cities.

To all who are reading, I would highly recommend taking the time and the opportunity to take a trip such as this one! Of course, each person’s road trip will be unique, but here are a few tidbits from mine.

Best drive: Asheville, NC to Nashville, TN

The drive from Asheville to Nashville was incredible. The tires on my little roadster gripped the long winding roads with tall trees towering above me on both sides. Even the rest stops along the way were filled with blossoming cherry trees and playgrounds for young families to play and stretch their legs in the crisp mountain air.

Easiest Places to Eat Healthy: Asheville, NC

Asheville was probably the most surprising stop of all, because when I think of North Carolina I generally don’t think of wellness centers and organic vegan restaurants on every corner. It would be easy to spend a month in this health-conscious city going to wellness centers, hiking to beautiful waterfalls, and eating at various health-conscious restaurants.
