Iridescent makeup is a fun tool for you to use to express your creative side. It’s the perfect makeup for festival season or limitless events that allow you to express yourself without boundaries. It’s also a great tool to add a subtle pop to a more natural makeup look, as well. Unless you’re going to a festival, it’s key to tread lightly with iridescent makeup, honestly. You have to have a gentle touch, start slow, and then grow the look from there. It’s never a problem adding more, so be sure to start light and grow your look form there when copying these looks! Here are some of our favorite makeup looks with our favorite iridescent product:
Milani Hypnotic Lights Eye Topper
Milani Hypnotic Lights Eye Topper is the perfect addition to any makeup look. Whether you choose the “Electric Forest” or “Cosmic Meadow” colors, they both shine flawlessly over your skin and eyeshadow base. Just gently dab the illumination color over your eyeshadow to finish your perfect festival look. Here’s our favorite look in “Cosmic Meadow”:
And here’s our favorite look in “Electric Forest”:
For both looks, the Hypnotic Lights Eye Topper was applied low on the eye-mostly to the lid only and never too far out past the eye. This is important when using iridescent eye makeup. If you apply it too high or too far out past your eye, it will make you look like a clown. Keeping it controlled on your lid as demonstrated above is the key to the perfect iridescent eye look.
Tattoo Junkee Lip Products
Tattoo Junkee Cosmetics has some killer iridescent makeup. While it’s all pretty great, their lip products stand out the most, as they are the most vibrant and unique around. These products offer you the chance to fully express yourself. So, if you’re looking for a nice iridescent lip, these are the products to use! Since they are so vibrant, we’d recommend going with a much more natural look with these, like this:
For this look, the focus is the Sparkle Lip Topper in Lollipop. It’s so cool in tone an shimmery that it doesn’t need much else with it. The Space Dust eyeshadow was also used in the colors “Life on Mars” and “Magic Dance” for this look, topped subtly with the Glo-Lite palette as a highlight. This natural look is one that can be worn anywhere. But, if you’re looking for a more extreme look, we have you covered here, too. This Lip Paint in “Past Curfew” stands as the base for a very creatively intense look here:
BH Cosmetics’s Opalescent Palette
For a more light and feminine iridescent look, be sure to check out BH Cosmetics’s Opalescent Palette. This palette has light and feminine colors with high pigmentation that will still give you a glamorous shimmering look without treading into dark tones. See this look below that is highly pigmented yet still soft and flirty.
It’s important to note that when you use iridescent shades, you don’t want to use makeup that is too dark in tone. The above looks are colorful and sparkly without treading into tones that are too dark. When you go with a dark eye, go with a lighter lip. If you choose a dark lip tone, lighten up the eyes a bit. The rule of picking one feature that stands out always applies. So get creative and try your own iridescent look today!
