How To Smell Fabulous All Day (11 Tips)

Research has proven over and over again that smell is one of the major factors taken into account by people when dating. Smelling bad is a sign that you are not able to properly take care of yourself and surely doesn’t give a good impression.

But having a pleasant smell all day can be a strenuous endeavor. This is why we decided to make a list of 11 tips to smell fabulous all day.

Drink water throughout the day

We all know that drinking water is important in maintaining our body healthy, but this is also a powerful tool to keep your breath fresh. Unfortunately, even though most people know this, they still find it hard to get the right water intake per day.

We are all busy with our daily lives, and sometimes we spend hours and hours in front of our laptops without drinking a single glass of water. Our suggestions? Buy a reusable bottle and always place it on your desk while you’re working. Just by looking at it, you will be reminded to drink water.

An extra tip is to add signs on your bottle with specific times, such as h9.00 and h16.00. In this way, you will always know whether you drank enough water throughout the day.

Spray your favorite perfume in your closet

If you want to smell good all day, you cannot only focus on your body, but you also need to pay attention to your clothes. One or twice a week, spray your closet with your favorite fragrance to make sure your clothes will always have the right scent.

Be careful with what you eat

Garlic and onions are delicious and healthy too! But let’s be honest, they’re obviously not the best for your breath. We’re not suggesting you delete these foods from your diet, but try to be conscious of when you’re eating them.

If it’s dinner time and you’re not planning on going out again, then eat as much as you want. If, however, you’re about to go on a date, it’s better to avoid them.

Lemon is your ally

If you can’t live without your daily amount of hummus, having a big glass of water and lemon right after your meal will help you fight the bad odor. Lemon is your ideal ally when it comes to getting rid of intense smells. You can use it against everything, from your cat litter to your menstrual cup!

Take care of your shoes

Our feet are the smelliest part of our body. This is why taking care of your shoes is a must if you want to smell good all day long. There are a few ways to do this.

For instance, you can use shoe spray to keep them fresh. Another option is to change shows every day, to give them the proper time to get some fresh air. To do so, put your shoes outside of the house, for instance, on your balcony. Some people also leave tea bags inside their shoes overnight to soak up the bad odor.

Use essential oil for your wash

Another fantastic way to give your clothes the perfect scent is to add essential oils to your wash. Normally, 10 to 20 drops will do the trick. You can choose from a variety of options ranging from lavender, rose, myrrh, and cedarwood. Just make sure your chosen fragrance matches well with your daily perfume.

Floss once a day

Even though dentists keep reminding us of the importance of flossing, most of us still haven’t implemented this practice in our daily life. Flossing once a day is fundamental to maintaining a fresh breath. In addition, it is also important for your mouth hygiene as plenty of bacteria get stuck between your teeth at every meal.

At first, your gums may bleed a bit, but this is normal and usually not painful. The bleeding tends to stop after a few times you do it as your gums get used to it.

Perfume your hairbrush

There are several ways to make sure your hair will have a pleasant scent all day. One tip is to apply perfume to your hairbrush. In this way, every time you brush your hair, you will also give it the perfect fragrance.

Another idea is to buy a perfume specifically designed for hair. Nowadays, there are several ones on the market. Last but not least, if you have dry hair, you can apply scented oils to it.

Use scented sachets

A scented sachet is a fantastic method to keep your laundry fresh. You can buy a few and put them in the drawers where you store your bed sheets, socks, underwear, or any other piece of clothing.

Take toothbrush and toothpaste always with you

Especially nowadays, when masks tend to be mandatory on public transport, pharmacies, and other venues, it’s extremely important to always take your toothbrush and toothpaste with you. Using a mask for a prolonged time can make your breath smell awful, and there’s no better way to get rid of it than by brushing your teeth.

Ideally, you want to use your toothbrush after every meal. Even though at first it may feel strange to take it with you at work, trust us, your teeth will thank you in the long run!

If brushing your teeth at work seems a bit too much, you can carry sugar-free mints or gums in your pocket.

Apply lightly scented deodorant

Obviously, deodorant is a must to smell good all day. However, if you already use perfume, you may want to try a lightly scented one. You can also opt for one of the many natural deodorants on the market. These not only help the environment but tend to have a very subtle fragrance that won’t contrast with your regular perfume.
