How to Get Shinier Hair

Most of us want shiny and healthy hair; however, some of us have dull, dry, and damaged strands due to numerous reasons. Nevertheless, some tips and tricks can make your hair grow healthy and glossy. To give you a better view, here are some ways to get shinier hair.

1. Use a Conditioner

After cleansing your hair, it is recommended to use a conditioner. The reason is that it can increase the moisture content of your strands. At the same time, a conditioner can also soften your hair, improve its elasticity, and smooth your hair cuticle. Keep in mind that smooth cuticles can better reflect light, resulting in glossy hair.

When choosing a conditioner, opt for a lightweight product rich in natural oils, like olive or avocado oil. These oils can smooth the tiny cracks in your hair follicles, leading to shiny strands.

2. Rinse with Cold Water

One of the easiest ways to get shinier hair is to rinse your tresses with cold water. The reason is not only because cold water can seal moisture in your stands. It can also smooth your hair cuticle, adding shine to your tresses. An added bonus is that cold water can make your hair color last longer.

3. Use the Right Brush

Brushing your hair can help pull down the oils on your scalp, preventing dryness. Plus, doing this will also stimulate the blood flow of your scalp, resulting in the growth of healthy hair. As such, it is recommended to brush your hair daily. However, you need to use the right hairbrush. As much as possible, opt for a hairbrush with natural bristles because it is less damaging to your stands compared to synthetic or metal bristles.

4. Apply an Overnight Hair Mask

Aside from using a conditioner daily, it is also recommended to apply an overnight hair mask once a week to keep your hair moisturized and glossy. Coconut oil is an excellent product you can use to deep condition your hair. To do this, simply apply the coconut oil all over your tresses. You can also massage your scalp to stimulate blood flow. When you wake up, rinse your hair with cold water.

5. Eat Foods for Shiny Hair

Aside from those ways to get shinier hair, the most important tip you should do to get glossy tresses is eating the right foods. Keep in mind that your diet can affect your hair. For example, eating foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids can help your body produce lustrous hair. Other vitamins and minerals you should include in your daily meals are silica, vitamin A, and vitamin C.
