How to Embrace the Power of MVP: Meditation, Visualization, and Prayer

If there’s one thing that I absolutely enjoy doing then it’s listening to Jay Shetty’s podcast “On Purpose” while I’m driving. It puts me in such a healthy headspace, and I always feel so energetically elevated once I arrive at the destination. Recently, I was listening to an episode that he did with leadership expert Robin Sharma, where he discussed the importance of MVP — meditation, visualization, and prayer. I was so intrigued by what he said that I did some research myself. So, here’s what I’ve found out.

Meditation

Let’s start with the first pillar of MVP – meditation. Most of you probably already know what meditation is, however, here’s a quick refresher. Meditation is a powerful practice for quieting the mind, calming the body, and cultivating inner peace and presence. And even though it sounds like the easiest thing in the world, it actually isn’t. But luckily, there are plenty of variations when it comes to meditation. Whether you prefer mindfulness meditation, guided visualization, or breathwork, carving out time each day to sit in stillness and silence can have profound effects on your mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. All you need to do is quiet the chatter of your mind and tune into the present moment. The effects? Reduced stress, increased clarity and focus, and a deeper sense of inner peace and contentment.

Visualization

Next up, we have visualization – the practice of creating vivid mental images of your goals, dreams, and desires. A lot of us know what visualization is, however — we often underestimate its true power and purpose. Visualization is a powerful tool for harnessing the law of attraction and manifesting your deepest desires into reality. By visualizing your goals with clarity, intention, and emotion, you can program your subconscious mind to work in alignment with your conscious desires. I know that this sounds like a bunch of new-age bs. However, so many famous and influential people have spoken out about it. Even if it’s just a mindset shift, you’re still paving the way for success, abundance, and fulfillment in all areas of your life.

Prayer

Last but not least, we have prayer – the practice of communicating with a higher power or divine source. I always felt like I had no room to pray. Why? Because I wasn’t particularly religious. However, you don’t actually need to be. Whether you pray to God, the universe, or your own inner wisdom, the purpose of prayer is to connect you with the divine, cultivate faith, and seek guidance, support, and protection. Prayer can take many forms, from reciting traditional prayers and mantras to speaking from the heart in your own words. So, do it on your own terms! It might feel a bit forced at first, but trust me — you will be so glad that you started. By surrendering your worries, fears, and desires to a higher power, you can find comfort, solace, and strength in times of need. And this will help us cultivate a deep sense of trust and faith in the unfolding of life’s journey.
