How to Curl Hair Without Curlers

I like the idea of keeping hair as healthy as possible. With today’s trends and hair styles, almost every hairstyle you involves the use of curling irons, hot rollers, or flat irons. It can really take a toll on your hair! There is no cure to split ends, so please give your hair a break from time to time. Consider going more natural waves by twisting your hair while its wet. You can get the same results without the hot tools or damage. It’s easy and you can sleep on it! Great for vacationing and going natural. Four easy steps.

  • Step one: shampoo hair and condition hair. Apply a leave in conditioner, oils for hair, moose for curling hair, curling gel, or any product that can help curl hair. Comb or brush to remove tangles.
  • Step two: Have bobby pins and a rat tail comb near you to section and pin hair. Part your hair into sections, about one to one and a half square . Twist the hair from the root to end, then spiral and twist the hair down to your scalp. Secure your twist down with bobby pins. Pin it to the base of your head. Cross the bobby pins. Continue twisting and pining all your hair in sections. Keep in mind you will be using more than one bobby pin for each section on your hair.

  • Step three: You can use a dryer if you must, which is less damaging than curling irons. Keep in mind that the more natural you go, the healthier it is for your hair. If you have thick and heavy hair then start with damp hair. Let it dry naturally and then start twisting and pining. After you have twisted and pinned all of your hair, it’s best if you let it dry naturally overnight, or if you are on a vacation or don’t have plans for eight hours, using a beautiful scarf can be worn.

  • Step four: Remove all the bobby pins and untwist the hair. Use your fingers to relax the curls just a bit and to style your hair. If you love the way it set, apply a dry hair spray. If it is a little too curly, then skip hair spray, and it will fall on it’s own.
