Summer is the season that a lot of people look forward to. People plan their vacations and pull out their summer wardrobe in order to make the most of summer.
In the midst of all these summer preparations, we sometimes end up forgetting to get ourselves prepared. Here are some tips to get yourself ready for summer:
Love your locks
Before summer is in full swing, give your hair some much needed love with a deep conditioning treatment. You can do this yourself by mixing up equal parts apple cider vinegar, honey and one egg. Leave this DIY mixture on your hair and scalp for 30 to 40 minutes before rinsing out. This will bring back your hair’s shine and moisture to give you the best summer hair.
Move your body
If you, like everyone else during summer, plan on heading to the beach for some much needed rest and relaxation, you may want to make sure your body is beach-ready. Tone up your body by doing at least 30 minutes of exercise in the morning and 40 minutes in the evening before summer rolls in. Tend your garden
Planning on wearing a bikini this summer? You may want to make sure that you don’t have stray hairs sticking out of your bikini area. Don’t wait for summer to arrive before you take care of hair down there; the last thing you want to do is end up with a botched bikini line because of a rushed wax job. Exfoliate your skin
Between the summer heat and trips to the beach, you will end up exposing more skin. This means that your skin might be more scrutinized. Fight that cellulite
Wanting to look your best while you frolic about on the beach can be easily ruined by cellulite. While you won’t be able to completely remove cellulite, you can minimize or reduce the appearance of cellulite with an easy DIY coffee scrub. Slather a generous amount of coffee grounds on problem areas and massage for three to five minutes before rinsing it off. Apply coconut oil afterward to seal in the moisture and flaunt those cellulite-free legs at the beach!
Get a pedicure
Unlike other seasons, you’ll probably spend most of the summer season wearing open-toed footwear such as flip flops and sandals, or even going barefoot. This is why it’s also important to pay attention to your feet. Get them ready for being exposed by making sure they’re clean and presentable. You can go to a nail salon with your friends and make it a bonding experience as you all get your toenails painted and your feet scrubbed to look their best when summer comes around.
Have summer makeup on hand
The summer humidity might prompt you to ditch your makeup kit and go without makeup for the entire season, but you might end up getting invited to events where you need to doll up a bit. Unlike cooler seasons where you can pack on the makeup and not feel like an oil slick, you might want to have special products on hand for use in the summertime.
