There is good news for dieters, carbs are not only good for you, they are instrumental in helping us lose weight! New studies show that a balanced diet consists of 1/3 carbs such as brown rice, sweet potatoes, quinoa and oats!
There are two types of carbohydrates, simple (short) and complex (long). Simple carbs include honey and fruit juices and are broken down by the body quickly. These spike sugar in the body and are not beneficial.
Complex carbs include sweet potatoes, buckwheat, chickpeas and beans. These are broken down by the body slowly and provide us with energy for a longer period of time. The muscles in your body rely on these carbohydrates for fuel.
So forget about fad diets that give carbs bad press and instead focus on a balanced diet that includes complex carbohydrates. By doing this, your productivity, physical and emotional well-being will be effected positively and you will loose unwanted, extra weight!
