EDITORS STYLE DIARY- Vintage Flea Market Shopping

A fashion "snapshot" into my life literally!

A fashion “snapshot” into my life literally!

I just love Fall in California…..mid 70’s, not a cloud in the sky and happy people everywhere. The weather just doesn’t get any better! Well, being that I live in this amazing climate, my boyfriend and I decided to take advantage of the perfect weather and hit up a local vintage flea market. Perfectly spent Sunday afternoon if you ask me. I’m such a fan of creative vintage clothing, furniture and art that I could have stayed at that small little flea market hours more. Ahhhhh addiction….gotta love it!

Knowing that I was going to a flea market that would most certainly be lacking proper fitting rooms I decided to wear a comfy maxi dress to make trying on clothing easier (and more decent lol). I love this simple heather grey maxi because its super comfotable and it’s so versatile….I can wear it as is or layer over it. With the weather being as perfect as it was I knew I would be scorching if I over layered my dress, so I chose to add a neck hugging mini infiniti scarf so that I could add just a little bit of warmth. Choosing the right shoes is also key when you’re going on a shopping adventure like this one. I chose comfy combat boots. I honestly just love pairing combat boots with dresses. It expresses that perfect mix of super femme meets tomboy. To finish off my look I accessorized the hell out of myself (per usual). Today I stuck with silver-toned jewelry with turquoise stone accents. I grew up in Arizona so I LOVE turquoise…..you’ll always see me wearing it and that day was no exception. I layered 3 native american inspired necklaces of varying length that fell just below the scarf. On my hands and wrists I mismatched some cool stand alone pieces that I have in my expansive (some say ridiculous) accessory collection. The turquoise ring on my left hand is one of my all time favorite pieces. It’s a very large turquiose stone set in sterling silver ring from the rennaissance era that my mom bought for me. She is the best when it comes to picking out jewelry because she knows the history behind it all. I try to take notes but I’m not sure I’ve done a very good job. My purse is by Jessalyn Blake for Free People
(take a look at my article I did on her purses
HERE)
. It’s a cool orange suede shoulder bag with fringe and colored tassles and bobbles hanging from it. Perfect for a shopping trip like this where you don’t need to carry too much but a credit card, some cash, lipgloss and a cellphone.

All in all, perfect day and a perfect comfy, cozy outfit to go with it!!
