8 ounces quality of your favorite chocolate, broken into pieces
2 pounds fresh ripe long-stemmed strawberries (washed)
4 ounces of your favorite white chocolate
Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with wax paper.
Melt in the chocolate in a double boiler over low heat, stirring frequently to ensure that the chocolate doesn’t burn. When chocolate is smooth and creamy, reduce heat in double boiler to very low.
Dip each strawberry about half way into the chocolate and place on wax-lined baking sheet. Allow to cool before serving.
Repeat the process until all of the strawberries are covered with chocolate. Refrigerate the tray until the chocolate is set, for about 15 minutes.
While you’re waiting for the chocolate to harden, melt the white chocolate. Pour it into a paper cone or plastic baggie with a small hole cut in the corner.
Get out the strawberries form the fridge. Draw a white chocolate line around the top and bottom of a strawberry, then add the white “laces” in the middle to make it look like a football. Repeat until all of the strawberries are decorated. Let the white chocolate harden completely. Store back in fridge till ready to eat.
Strawberry Footballs are best eaten the day they are made.
