Casablanca, Morocco: A City of Color and Texture

Though it is now a household name thanks to the old black-and-white film, Casablanca is a city currently swimming in vibrant colors and textures. In fact, it serves as the ideal backdrop for influencers to come and snap the best Instagram photos.

Casablanca, Morocco is a port city with an astounding amount of French colonial architecture and European style. It is one of the largest cities in Africa, and it is economically one of Africa’s most-important cities, too. With a population of 3.35 million in the urban area, Casablanca is no-doubt the economic center of Morocco.  Its beautiful blue water mixed with the old-European (and some modern) style make it look like a port out of the French Riviera. It’s the perfect blend of modern and timeless design.

The marketplaces all over the city make it stand out more, adding the edge of distinct Moroccan culture to the mix. In fact, the marketplaces are the real must-visits of Morocco, as they feature astoundingly bright berries, a rainbow of hats, blankets, and rugs, and an immense variety of other trinkets and items. Almost all of these marketplaces appear as a vibrant sea of color before your eyes. Why wouldn’t you stop in for this perfect photo-op?

For all the “Casablanca” movie lovers, Rick’s Café is a real place to visit! Placed conveniently near the water, Rick’s Café opened in 2004 and was made to recreate the classic ambiance from the movie “Casablanca”. Go back into the time of the silver screen and experience Morocco like never before with an elegant evening of dinner and drinks. Though you won’t be seeing Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman there, it’s still a great place to visit and take some amazing photos while in Casablanca, Morocco.
