It is that time of year again when the grocery stores, office places, and schools have Halloween candy everywhere to celebrate the holiday. It calls our name, right? What is one little peice here and 1 little piece there matter? A lot! Eating too much Halloween candy will ruin your workout progress.
Halloween is so much fun, but it is also another one of those annual diet-ruining times that tempts us with unhealthy food. When you are surrounded with Halloween candy, there is constant temptation to stray from your diet. It may not even feel like you are eating all that much because each individually wrapped treat is so small. Unfortunately, each snack definitely adds up and can really end up doing serious damage to your weight loss goals. Here are some tips to beat the extra holiday pounds.
Out of Sight, Out of Mind
If you see candy you like, you are going to start craving it. Cravings may still happen otherwise, but by removing the constant visual reminder, the idea of eating candy is less likely to work its way into your thoughts. So, if you have Halloween candy in the house, keep it somewhere out of the way, like up in a closet you do not open frequently. If you can’t control yourself, Don’t have it in the house at all.
Have Only What You Need
Skipping out on passing out Halloween candy to trick-or-treaters is no fun, but there is no need to stock up on candy weeks in advance. If you wait to buy your treats until just before the big night, there will be nothing in the house to tempt you. Make it a goal to give away all of your candy. This way, you will not run into the situation of having leftovers to tempt you.
Indulge in Moderation
You don’t want to completely abstain from candy if you have a sweet tooth because that may lead to binging. Instead know your limits. Having a few sweet treats will satisfy you. You will feel that you have had your Halloween fun.
