The next morning, we were able to walk a short distance from Hotel Shana to a local, secluded beach.
Hotel Shana is the only hotel in the area that is close to this remote, pristine seashore. After walking 5 minutes in the jungle, the trail opens up to a powder white beach with large rocks jutting out of the water’s surface. The water is bath-like at a warm 80 degrees. There are locals selling coconuts for you to drink while getting that perfect accessory: a deep, dark Costa Rican tan!

Hotel Shana also boasts a restaurant that offers fresh, local fare such as home made wood fired pizza, vegan specialties and sustainable eggs and honey.
While we ate, we had the opportunity to sit by the pool and gaze out over the jungle canopy. The weather was perfectly sunny and the sky azure blue.
