5 Steps to Long-Lasting Lipstick

2 of 4

Use a lip liner

Using a lip liner can also double as a base and will help your lipstick from feathering by locking it in the center of your lips while creating a fine outer frame. Choose the same shade as your lip color and carefully line the outside of your lips. If you want to make sure you lipstick has something to stick to, you can also fill in the rest of your lips. If you’ve already used a primer, it might not be necessary. Afterward, grab the color you’ll be using and a fine brush. Instead of applying the color directly, you can put a bit on the brush to fill in your lips. This will give you greater precision and help you stay in the lines, which is great if you have thinner lips.
