3 Reasons Not to Skip Breakfast

To skip or not skip that is the question.

Get up, get ready, make the coffee, pick an outfit, slip on your shoes, gather your belongings,
and head out the door! This is a typical morning for the average person. But did you notice that eating breakfast was not a part of that above routine?
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day so why are so many people still skipping breakfast? While it may seem that making breakfast could double the time of your morning routine, making and enjoying a daily breakfast can actually be very simple, yet still delicious, and (most importantly) nutritious. Here are our favorite reasons NOT to skip breakfast.

It Prepares You For The Rest of the Day

Your entire body needs to wake up to start the day. Sure, coffee or tea might jolt you awake mentally, but the rest of your body needs energy as well.
One of the best ways to make sure your body is prepared for the day is to give your body the nutrients it needs is by eating breakfast. Breakfast is nothing like sleep. It cannot just be replenished with extra food later on in the day.
The nutrients found in a balanced breakfast (Vitamin A, Calcium, Vitamin C, Riboflavin, Zinc and Iron) are the nutrients that will help you be more
focused throughout the day to keep you at top of your game.

It Helps You Lose Weight

While you might think the easiest way to cut calories is to skip a meal altogether, eating throughout the day helps maintain and speed up your metabolism.
If you eat a healthy whole grain breakfast paired with fruits, your body will feel more satisfied and you will not feel the urge to reach for that mid-day snack to help curb your hunger.

It keeps your heart healthy

Most breakfasts are nutritious, low in cholesterol, low in fat, high in protein, and high in vitamins. These are all the stepping stones needed to maintain a healthy heart and an overall healthy lifestyle.
Just avoid the donuts and the pastries on a daily basis.

Here is a wonderful recipe we recommend. Feel free to make a few servings so you can prepare at least two days of meals at a time!
