Why African Black Soap is Literally a Miracle

What is black soap and what can it do for your skin?

Most of us purchase our soap close to home, and we often get bar or liquid soap. But one of the main complaints of traditional soaps is they are too harsh and drying on our skin.  Did you know that there is an alternative soap that is made from plant material only? As a result, this all-natural soap is gentle on your skin and won’t clog your pores! What is it called? African black soap!

That’s right, African black soap contains shea butter so it won’t clog your pores. It also offers natural UV protection.  It also helps to fade dark spots and evens out your skin tone.  And because it is so gentle on your skin, it is an ideal soap for people who suffer from rashes, acne, rosacea and extreme dryness on their skin.  You can even use it on your hair as a shampoo!

And because African black soap is raw and unprocessed, it gives a natural exfoliation to your skin.  There are particles of plant material inside that act as an exfoliator!

It can also minimize scars and blemishes because it contains red palm oil which is a great source of vitamin E.  So, this soap is ideal too if you have stretch marks from pregnancy that you want to minimize!

African black soap is also anti-fungal so if you have problems with athlete’s foot, jock itch, ringworm, candida or other types of fungus, this soap has been proven to be effective against it.  It can even be used to combat household mold!

How is this soap made? For centuries, women in West Africa made this soap by collecting palm leaves, bark from the shea and plantain trees and cocoa pods. They would then dry them in the sun.  After, they roasted them in a mixture with coconut and palm oil.  Then, they would cure this soap for two weeks.

And even though the name would make you think the soap is black in color, it is actually brown.  And it crumbles easily.  It is sometimes sold as a raw and unprocessed block. So, simply slice off a bar to use it!

What do you think? Will you be using African black soap? We think we will!
