Who is the first transgender super model and what does she look like?
There are many beautiful models from all over the world and some can even be referred to as supermodels, but there are certain requirements that they must meet. They must be tall, slender, and exceptionally gorgeous. If they are at the top of their game, they can be awarded a much-coveted cover on an international fashion magazine. Today, there is one new cover model that is causing a stir. Why? Because she is transgender!
Valentina Sampaio is the world’s first transsexual cover model. And indeed she meets all of the requirements for being a supermodel. She is 5 foot nine inches tall, has a 25-inch waist and 33 inch bust. She has long brown hair and gorgeous green eyes, and she is a rising star in the fashion industry!
She is the first transgender model to appear on the cover of Vogue. She has also appeared on the cover of Elle! And well known brands such as L’Oreal have made her a brand ambassador. She is seen in an online video for the cosmetics giant entitled “fight for feminine freedom in all its expressions”. In this video, she is seen taking a photo for her new ID card for her first International Women’s Day. Sampaio then says, “Beauty is something that transcends the body. It comes from the soul.”
And although Sampaio is garnering a lot of attention these days because she is transgender, she considers herself “just another model”. Right now, she is considered unique. However, as more transsexual models such as Andreja Pejic and Lea T. succeed, it will soon become the norm rather than a fetish. French Vogue Editor-in-Chief said, “When a transgender person poses on the front cover of a fashion magazine and it is no longer necessary to write an editorial on the subject we will know that the battle is won.”
Congratulations to Valentina Sampaio!
