What is the real secret to being happy?
Let’s face it, most people seek only one thing in life: to be happy. And they try to find happiness in a multitude of ways. Some look for happiness in love, financial success, and material goods. Yet, happiness and contentment quite often elude us all. So then, what is the real secret to being content and happy?
Believe it or not, contentment has nothing to do with material goods or security. Rather, a mere 15 minutes a day of solitude can make all of the difference in the world when it comes to being calm, happy and content! That’s right! By simply allowing yourself 15 minutes each day for yourself, you will feel more peaceful and less anxious on the whole! Now, you might be saying that you don’t have time for yourself. But did you know that by taking time out of your schedule for yourself, you will be more functional with others such as your family, friends and co-workers?
How do you do this? Well, there are many ways to find solitude. You can read a book, meditate, or simply be quiet. Go to a quieter room in your house where you can be by yourself. Or go to the bathroom if you are at work. Some people don’t like to ever be alone. But being alone can reduce your anger and stress.
And although some may view being alone as boring, choosing time by yourself can actually help with inner peace and help you to cope with everyday emotions! So, if you are feeling a bit stressed and overwhelmed, why not take 15 minutes of “me” time out of your busy schedule to revitalize, refresh and feel like a new you again! You’ll be glad you did!
