100% cruelty free LipSense is being recognized as a long lasting lip color used by performers on Broadway!
The summer season on Broadway is in full force right now. With kids out of school and families traveling to New York City, many are excited to see hits such as Hamilton, Wicked, The Lion King, Aladdin, School of Rock and, of course, Cats! And while there is a tremendous diversity when it comes to the entertainment on Broadway, there is one thing many of the performers love to use, a vegan lipstick!
That’s right, the infamous Times Square Jumbotron announced that a favorite lipstick used by performers in Broadway musicals is cruelty-free. LipSense vegan lipstick will be used by actors in shows such as The Book of Mormon, The Phantom of the Opera and others. And to honor this, you’ll be seeing LipSense on the Jumbotron every hour for the next few months!
LipSense is created by a cruelty-free company, SeneGence International, and is used by several performers. Their lipstick is known for being a favorite among Broadway actors because it is long-lasting and smudge-proof. Actors in productions such as Kinky Boots have been wearing it for its durability while on stage performing.
Broadway officials were the first to approach SeneGence CEO Joni Rogers-Kante. Kadie Anderson, SeneGence Customer Service Representative, said, “SeneGence is proud to say that we do not test on animals and we do not use animal by products. We do use alternative sources such as synthetic beeswax.” These luscious lippies are available in 38 shades so there’s plenty of colors to choose from! They are made with soothing shea butter. Also, the pigment used in creating these colors is animal-free. In the future, SeneGence is hoping that other products they carry will be used by Broadway actors.
Broadway performers are setting a great example for other avenues of the entertainment industry to follow suit. Hopefully, the television and film industry will also begin using only 100% cruelty-free products in their projects.
Until then, the performers in The Lion King really have something to roar about!
