Michaela Angela Davis tells us why she loves her face!
I’m always fascinated by other’s women’s perspectives on aging that are older than I am. And I was so surprised when I first saw this video featuring writer and activist Michaela Angela Davis. To say that this segment is uplifting is an understatement.
If you haven’t heard of her before that ‘s okay. She was the executive fashion and beauty editor for Essence Magazine. She was also the founding fashion director for Vibe Magazine. And she’s a celebrity stylist whose clients include Oprah Winfrey, Beyonce, Diana Ross, Mary J. Blige, and LL Cool J, just to name a few.
Michaela has a fresh, unique and oh so real perspective on aging. It is positive, simple and uplifting. In fact, after you hear her straightforward way of approaching the lines on her face, you’ll say, “Oh, you’re right, why didn’t I think of that before?”
In fact, her beliefs on aging will release you from any pre-conceived notions about women and getting older. So much of the way we perceive age and wrinkles has to do with what society has taught us. And society wants us to not feel good about getting older. Society places too much emphasis on a woman’s beauty and youth. Instead, it needs to place more value on a woman’s wisdom and inner beauty.
But, Michaela doesn’t let others plant negative concepts in her head regarding who she is and where she is in her life. Instead, she has created her own worldview on life, liberty and the constant pursuit of happiness!
So, come with us as we take a look at why this iconic writer and activist is so proud of the lines on her face. You’ll be ever so glad you did!
