Try spinning, barre classes, or aerial yoga!
If you are thinking of changing up your workout routine, why not try something new and different? Barre classes, spinning, or aerial yoga are all innovative ways to stay in shape. Not only are they good for you, you’ll actually have fun too!
Barre classes are trending right now! Sadie Lincoln, founder of barre3 fitness explains barre by saying, “Most barre-based classes use a combination of postures inspired by ballet and other disciplines like yoga and Pilates. The barre is used as a prop to balance while doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training (holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles) combined with high reps of small range-of-motion movements.” Barre can also incorporate handheld weights and core work on mats! Barre can reduce the tension on your joints, tendons, ligaments, and spine, improve your posture and you can actually look taller too! What’s not to love?
Spinning is basically indoor cycling that focuses on endurance, strength, intervals, and recovery. The bikes you spin on are stationary and you are in a classroom setting typically with a class of others spinning with you. This is a great way to loose weight, improve your heart rate, build lean muscle, and be a part of a spin community that will help promote friendships too!
This is a new type of yoga that began in New York. It has now become popular across the globe and combines traditional yoga poses with Pilates and dance with the use of a hammock! Benefits include the strengthening of muscles and joints, spine decompression and overall better spiritual health! Plus, enthusiasts of aerial yoga say it is so much fun and reminds them of being in the circus!
