Who doesn’t like to travel? Let’s be honest, there are a ton of great destinations out there whether you’re walking amongst the historic landmarks of Rome or taking in the breathtaking view of the Aegean sea from the tip of the Balkan Peninsula. There are lots of places to see, so you’re not going to run out of world anytime soon, but when it comes to traveling, you’re going to need to make sure you’re organizing yourself well.
One of the most important tips that we can give you, is to carry a fanny pack, or belt bag. Okay, we completely get and understand that you want to carry your glamorous Gucci purse with you, but do you really want to? You have no idea where you might end up, and you have no idea what sort of people you’re going to meet, and with that being the case, you’re going to need to take some precautions.
Your Personal Security Concerns Abroad
The one thing we want to make absolutely clear is that you should NEVER judge the inhabitants of a country based upon the actions of a few. That being said, the biggest problem you’re going to run into abroad, other than occasionally getting lost on the way to your hotel, is running into less than reputable individuals that prey on travelers, potentially taking their money, misdirecting them, pickpocketing, etc. Don’t worry, there are ways that you can protect yourself, and one of them is changing the way that you carry your money while you’re traveling abroad.
Upgrade to a Fanny Pack
A fanny pack is going to be highly beneficial to you when you’re traveling abroad for a few different reasons. Firstly, it’s going to be easier for you to find whatever you need; fanny packs are small, so you won’t have to deal with the bottomless pit that is a purse. You’re on vacation, after all, so why would you want to reach into Narnia every time you want your wallet? Second, a fanny pack keeps your hands free, meaning you can do more without having to worry about where your purse is the entire time. Vacations are all about that feeling of freedom right? Don’t let a heavy purse ruin it! Finally, consider that everything you need is going to be front and center while you’re out on your vacation – it’s never been easier or more accessible than it is with a fanny pack.
Travel in Style
When you think of fanny packs you’re probably thinking of those rather unstylish nylon bags from the dollar store that really gave fanny packs a bad name. There are some great designers out there, from Chanel, to Louis Viutton, and beyond. Fanny packs can be highly functional and a great addition to your collection – don’t pass them up based on ‘popular opinion’!
