Top Brands Who Have Gone Eco-Friendly

We love our planet! With everyone in agreeance that we are completely depleting our ecosystem, we’ve thought up various ways to live environmentally-friendly lifestyles that go a step beyond the three R’s (reduce, reuse, and recycle). For us eco-cautious fashionistas and vegan makeup junkies, it’s no longer necessary to search far and wide for affordable products that are cruelty-free and avoid animal testing.

Without having to sacrifice quality at the expense of our furry friends and the planet as a whole, we can happily cash in on our preferred retailers without feeling guilty. Along with our favorite fashion retailers, like H&M, here are a few cosmetic and skin care lines that have gone eco-friendly.

Forever21

Don’t you love the nail polish lines offered at Forever21? Would you believe that these extremely affordable lavish lacquers are 100% vegan and cruelty-free? They also carry a handful of faux fur and wool free items on several of their lines. Their Rose Cosmetic Brush Set and their cosmetics line with partner Kat von D, “Love & Beauty” are both 100% cruelty-free vegan beauty products sold in their stores.

H&M

We love H&M, but for more than just their trendy threads. Already a staple fashion provider with affordable price tags, H&M Conscious Collection is made of eco-friendly materials.
They also carry vegan makeup brands among their 700 or more beauty products and incorporate faux-leather into their fashion lines. They have even partnered with the humane society to encourage others to invest in cruelty-free, vegan products.

John Hardy

More than just the choice of fashion for hipsters, John Hardy is a provider of eco-design fashions with their Bamboo Collection. With the collection .≤Wear Bamboo’ and the Plant Bamboo initiative, the brand plants a batch of Bamboo seedlings for every purchase. With recognized celebrity faces like Emma Watson and Freida Pinto showing support and the help of customers world-wide, there are close to one million seedlings that have been sowed this far.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics

Rightly named, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics is designed with the vegan make up junkie in mind. Starting with a simple lip balm and growing into an all-inclusive cosmetics line; going as far to include nail lacquers as bold and beautiful as you. They even carry high quality vegan & cruelty free make up applicators and brushes.

Patagonia

A long time eco-conscious fashion provider, Patagonia has been actively recycling since the year 2005. With over 82 tons of clothing collected and recycled, they allow you to either drop off in store or ship within the mail any Patagonia Brand product so that they may be refurbished, recycled appropriately, or transformed into something new altogether. They also host a trade in program within their Portland locations where customers can purchase these salvageable pieces.

Tropic Skin Care

Eco-friendly makeup junkies can rest easy knowing that Tropic Skin provides an all-natural, vegan cosmetics line. With a known love for animals and their welfare, Tropics stands vigilantly against animal testing and created from a pure plant-based skin care formula of botanicals and organic products. They provide universally fabulous skin care products and makeup for a pretty penny… or two.
