The Parisian Fashion house par excellence has released a cruise collection that has given the world a series of simply iconic pieces. This collection includes a white sweater with the legendary letter C painted in red, honoring the navy essence that has always characterized Coco Chanel.
WOW! Literally just woke up in shock that I really opened and lead the finale of the @chanelofficial Cruise 2018/19 show last night at the Grand Palais and it was an absolute honour. No amount of words can even express what this moment means to me. Walking a Chanel show was a dream come true and a great achievement but now opening the show it blows my mind. It makes me so proud knowing that I am not only representing dark-skin models but also other models of colour from all around the world. This moment was a true celebration of us, our beauty and work. I could not be any prouder to be a representation of you all. Merci beaucoup @karllagerfeld @amandaharlech @aurelieduclos and the whole Chanel team for recognising me and believing in me to open, walk and lead the finale in your beautiful show last night. It was truely a magical moment that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Styled by #virginieviard Makeup @luciapicaofficial Hair by @sammcknight1 ❤️🖤🎉
This garment is practically an instant classic and the way it was showcased made it a memorable fashion moment of the season. Creative Director Karl Lagerfeld orchestrated an unforgettable spectacle where he built a marina inside the Grand Palais to showcase his latest work for the French maison.
This incredible set included a rocket ship, a carousel, a sea of icebergs, an Eiffel Tower reproduction, a flea market, a waterfall that worked as the center in one of Chanel’s most elaborate fashion shows, and a life-sized cruise ship docked in the middle of the City of Lights.
This perfect sweater was displayed as a highly versatile item, an instant reinvented classic that will surely fly off the shelves.
The new “hot piece” of the legendary Parisian maison has returned, and it has done so while reiterating that classic garments do not necessarily have to be boring.
The collection itself catch the attention of influencers, reporters, and fashionistas, and was a major success judging by the Instagram feed. This beautiful sweater was mixed with Chanel staples including pearl necklaces, tweed suiting in all of its changing silhouettes, statement accessories with a twist, and, of course, the Hadid sisters and the collection’s muse, South Sudanese supermodel Adut Akech.
Undoubtedly, white is a color that will never go out of style. When worn on a sweater, it is simply the best item for the current millennial woman.
