Some U.S. cities have a lot of catching up to do.

Did you know that the number one New Year’s Resolution is to lose weight and exercise more? Well, unfortunately, this is also the one that most people fail at, too. In fact, 60 percent of memberships to gyms are purchased in January and are never used!  So, where are the best places in the country that offer you the best chance at maintaining a active lifestyle?

A study done by WalletHub revealed which cities in the US that were the best and worst to live in for leading an active lifestyle.  Here are the top ten best cities to live in and the top worst:

So, if you are living in Scottsdale, Arizona and love golf, this is an ideal place for you to be physically active. Scottsdale has the most public golf courses per square root of the population.

New York has the most sporting-goods stores. If you are into aerobics and fitness training, you better move to Lincoln, Nebraska as it has the most fitness trainers and aerobics instructors per 100,000 residents at 185. What?! The fewest number comes from Bakersfield, California which has only 31 per every 100,000 residents.

If you love to dance, then San Francisco is the city for you!  It has the highest number of dance schools!  And if you like to play outside with your kids, you’re in luck if you live in New York as it has the most public playgrounds.
