If you needed another excuse to go to Starbucks, congratulations, you have it! Most recently, Starbucks unveiled a vegan breakfast option, great for anyone following the plant-based, cruelty-free diet. This comes in addition to their Overnight Grains, are yet another addition to their vegan menu.
What are the Overnight Grains?
Ready to know more? Well, this brand new concoction, brought to you by some of Starbuck’s most brilliant baristas is very much like a parfait set in a container, and it contains all of the things that vegans dream of including:
- Steel Oats
- Chia Seeds
- Coconut Milk
- Tropical Compote
Yep, it’s just as tasty as it sounds, and there’s much more to it! If you’re a bit of a health nut (no pun intended) then you’re definitely looking for something with lower calories and a decent amount of protein; don’t worry, you’re going to find it here. Overnight Grains features just 360 calories per serving and six grams of protein, making it perfect for not only the vegan but also the health conscious individual. You’re in for quite a great when you try this one; it contains oats, which pack a serious texture punch, and the flavors are very refreshing. To be perfectly honest, breakfast at Starbucks has never been better.
But There’s a Catch…
There’s a catch with everything, isn’t there? The answer is yes, obviously, and there is one with this, that you’re probably not going to be entirely amused with. The problem is that the Overnight Grains are only available in select Starbucks stores in the New York Area. That’s right if you’re anywhere but the Big Apple(or the surrounding state), then you’re probably not going to get your hands on this one for a while.
Starbucks themselves report that this is a small in-store test, however, if there is a positive reaction to this brand new vegan snack, there is a good chance that it will be rolled out nationwide, making it something to look forward to, no matter where you are in the United States.
In a world where the vegan diet is largely ignored in favor of the more dominant meat eaters, it is very nice to see that some prestigious chains are picking up the vegan lifestyle, and most importantly, giving us more food options! I for one am glad I don’t have to take my morning latte at home anymore – it’s so much easier to just get in the car, go, and start the day off with a nice cup from America’s favorite coffee retailer.
Like we said, it’s not quite available everywhere yet, but it’s definitely heading in that direction, and we can’t wait.
