Alima Pure is seen on the face of Riley Keough at the Met Gala!
Natural makeup brands are becoming increasingly more popular today. And as people are moving away from larger cosmetic companies, we are seeing smaller, indie brands taking the spotlight.
This week, according to Beauty Independent, Riley Keough was seen on the red carpet at the Met Gala wearing natural makeup brand, Alima Pure.
Makeup artist Mai Quynh created Riley’s gorgeous look! Urmila Ratnam, CEO and president of Alima Pure, said, “Sometimes people think natural beauty is only for those who aren’t going for a dramatic style. In saying natural beauty, we are talking about the formulation of our products. Of course, we celebrate everybody’s natural beauty, and nobody needs to wear makeup, but we are reaching people who are looking for high-performance cosmetics, and our products do perform. We want people to be aware that you can definitely wear them on the red carpet, and they hold up like conventional products.”
Other natural beauty brands were featured at the Met Gala’s “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”. Included were Burt’s Bees, True Botanicals, and W3ll People. Ratman also said, “Natural beauty is having a moment. There is much more awareness of natural beauty and indie beauty, so it’s about time that more of this happens.”
What did Quynh use on Riley? She used Alima Pure’s Luminous Shimmer Eyeshadow, Natural Definition Mascara in black, Natural Definition Brow Pencil in blonde, Natural Definition Eye Pencil in coffee, and Lip Tint in paprika.
Last year, Emma Watson wore Alima Pure’s Natural Definition Brow Pencil for the “Beauty and the Beast” press tour. These brow pencils immediately sold out after Watson said she had used it, and that’s exactly what Alima Pure is hoping for. Ratman said, “We want people to find us, and that’s what we are looking for, some people who have never heard of our brand before learning about it.”
