According to LiveKindly, the artist famous around the world for her participation in 2001’s “Lady Marmalade”, decided to enter the world of vegan wine. Her Planet 9 brand includes a red cabernet sauvignon with plum infusions. There are no animal-based fining agents present in the manufacturing of this wine, which is one way to make sure that this is a 100% vegan product. Nonetheless, there are an impressive number of vineyards and wineries that are making the moves towards plant-based fining agents (or getting rid of them completely as it happens with natural wine) after the growing concern among consumers in regards to the use of animal products during the production of wine.

The singer’s veganism is not something she has kept quiet. In fact, the multitalented artist has been outspoken about making veganism one of her major causes. “Some of the pros of veganism? Let’s start with clarity in the mental space, even spiritual connection with the rest of the world, environmentalism, it takes about 25,000 gallons of water to produce one pound of beef,” she said in an interview with The Root.

If you’re thinking about starting your path on veganism, Mya also designed an online vegan transition guide for those that don’t know how to begin. “[Veganism is] a lifestyle, it’s not just about diet, it’s about your home décor, your fashion, what you are driving, what you are wearing, all kinds of things,” the singer added on the interview.

Another way she has kept people engaged with the vegan aspect of her life is on social media, where she’s constantly offering tips on plant-based items and hosts virtual vegan group events. One of her more recent campaigns was a challenge where she encouraged her followers to a 15 day vegan, raw vegan, alkaline vegan, or juicing path. People could opt for a particular version of the challenge that suited their needs, and she followed along posting her daily meals and sharing basic recipes.
