Liev Schreiber Opens Up About Naomi Watts Split

One year after his relationship with actress Naomi Watts came to an end, Liev Schreiber talked about his life after the separation and how he’s still dealing with it.

The actor opened up about his personal drama in a recent interview during on “Sunday Today With Willie Geist”, and said that their relationship remains amicable.

“It’s always hard, you know? You build a life with someone and things change. And I think the way that we’ve looked at it is that we’ll always be partners and that’s what kind of keeps us together and keeps us amicable,” the Ray Donovan actor said about his breakup. “But I think we’re more than that, I think we also genuinely really care about each other.”

Schreiber and the Oscar nominated actress announced their separation after 11 years together in September 2016. Geist also asked the actor about his children with the “Twin Peaks” actress — they share sons Alexander (Sacha) Pete Schreiber, 9, and Samuel Kai Schreiber, 8.

“It’s important to support each other, you know? It’s really important. I was making some jokes this morning at breakfast about mommy with the boys, and their eyes light up when I talk about her,” Schreiber said. “You can see how important it is to them that their parents care about each other and that no matter what happens, you continue to try and do that.”

“We’re parents together so we’ll be together for the rest of our lives no matter what and we’re very close,” Schreiber said in a previous interview. “Hopefully, that never changes and I don’t think it will.”

Watts has also talked about the breakup. The Australian actress said, “There are good days and bad days and Liev and I are on great terms and we’re trying to do our absolute best for the sake of the children and we hope to keep moving forward in that way.”

“I mean, I’m single, I’m co-parenting. I’m doing okay,” she said.

“I feel I’m in a good place in my life and I want to make sure my kids are healthy, my kids are happy and things are going to go well,” Watts added. “Those are my hopes for me and for all of us.”

Schreiber was spotted out with rumored girlfriend, former Miss South Dakota Taylor Neisen last month at the Wollman Rink in New York City’s Central Park.

Watts, for her part, is currently dating actor Billy Crudup.
