The Grammy-winning artist will kick off his shows with a concert at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on March, 13 and then, the tour will make stops in 27 cities before ending in his hometown of Memphis, May 30 at the FedEx Forum.
The concert series is named after the “”SexyBack” singer’s new album “The Man of the Woods.” “The outdoors is the inspiration for a lot of these songs. That’s the main idea,” Timberlake said in the promotional trailer. “The tour will be able to bring the outside in. How can we bring that to life?”
Timberlake has clearly been getting ready for the tour for a while. The video shows him rehearsing choreography and practicing vocal warm-ups. “I want people to see the inspiration for how it ended up sounding,” he said. “I’ve never seen that done before—bring the outside in.”
This tour marks the return to the stage after the successful run of “The 20/20 Experience Tour”, which took him to different continents in 2013/2014. It was announced that AmEx card members can buy tickets on Jan. 10 and the general sales will start on Jan. 16 and Jan. 22.
Every “Man of the Woods” tour concert will also feature a VIP Verizon Up section, which will bring fans close to the stage and the singer. There will be shows in New York, Chicago, Boston, Las Vegas, Nashville, Miami, before wrapping up in Memphis.
The “Cry Me a River” artist announced his new LP on Jan. 2. His new album is set to debut this February.
“This album is really inspired by my son, my wife, my family, but more so than any other album I’ve ever written, where I’m from and it’s personal,” Justin said in an Instagram video promoting his upcoming work featuring his son Silas and his wife, actress Jessica Biel.
The Man of The Woods will be release two days before JT takes the stage to headline the halftime show at Super Bowl on Feb. 4.
Timberlake already released the first song from the anticipated album, “Filthy,” on Friday (Jan. 5).
