Beim believes that this diet can help with cancer, osteoporosis, gout, eczema and arthritis! She said that by reducing acid forming foods you’ll have more energy, better concentration, lose weight, and have great looking skin.

For 10 days, omit sugar, grains, meat, eggs, and dairy from your diet. Also, cut out alcohol and coffee. Instead focus on fresh fruits and vegetables, tofu, tempeh, nuts, and seeds. She said you should also drink plenty of herbal teas as they flush out your system.  These teas can include clover, calendula, peppermint, and chamomile, among others.

She also said another way to increase your blood alkalinity is to drink a green smoothie each day.  This smoothie can contain green, leafy vegetables, fruits, and plant-based protein powder. New studies show that having a diet rich in plant protein versus animal protein can actually make you live longer!
